ANU-UPNG partnership runs Writer’s Workshop for upcoming PNG Update conference

Last week, Dr. Mike Cookson, manager of the ANU-UPNG partnership, delivered a now-annual ‘Writers Workshop’ to researchers who will present at the upcoming PNG Update.

The participating researchers, from UPNG, the National Research Institute (NRI), and Pacific Adventist University, presented their research on topics that varied from the settlements, urbanisation and economic policy, to ecotourism and gender-based violence.

The workshop was a chance for participants to present their findings for feedback and peer evaluation, as well as to practise delivering their presentations.

Dr. Manoj Pandey and Michael Cornish also presented: Dr. Pandey on effective presentation technique, and Michael Cornish on the PNG economy.

The participants said that they enjoyed the workshop and made particular mention of the fact that they valued the feedback given on their research.

The Crawford ANU – SBPP UPNG partnership is funded by the Australian aid program under the Pacific Leadership and Governance Precinct. Rohan Fox is the Partnership Coordinator.
