For those with an interest in Papua New Guinea, there are two events coming up in Canberra this month that you may want to get along to.
This Friday (November 1), UN Women Australia are hosting a talk at the National Library of Australia on gender based violence in PNG with Jeff Buchanan, the UN Women country representative in PNG. More details are available here. RSVP toadmin@unwomen.org.au.
On November 14, Buk bilong Pikinini, an NGO which works to create children’s libraries in PNG, will be launching their documentary on promoting literacy at a fundraising event at the PNG High Commission in Canberra.
This happens to be the same day as our second Harold Mitchell Annual Development Policy Lecture, but don’t worry–you can make it to both. The Harold Mitchell lecture is being delivered this year by Jim Adams, who will be comparing economic reform in Africa and the Pacific is at the ANU at 5.30pm.
