Got an idea for Australian aid? 3MAP

The 2017 Australasian Aid Conference (AAC) is coming up on February 15 and 16. It will be the fourth annual AAC, and the biggest yet. We’re looking forward to hosting a range of excellent researchers and practitioners from around Australia and the region – but we also want to try something new this year.
For one of the plenaries, we’ll be holding an interactive session to present and debate ideas for improving Australian aid. A number of speakers will talk about their proposals for no more than 3 minutes each, followed by rapid-fire audience reaction, and a vote.
We’re calling it 3MAP: the Three-Minute Aid Pitch.
For this to work, we need some great ideas – and that’s where you come in. If you think you’ve got a stellar idea to improve Australian aid and international development policy, and you’re keen to promote it, please submit a short paragraph outlining your pitch to devpolicy@anu.edu.au (with “3MAP” in the subject line) no later than Friday December 9. It could be about something to improve aid effectiveness, or communications. It could be a sectoral or geographical priority you think is important but neglected. And it doesn’t have to be about aid. Think also about other policies important for development – trade, migration, tax, etc. We’ll then select a handful of the most promising ideas to be pitched and debated at the 2017 AAC.
