In this section, we will look at some of the contributions Australia makes to important aid organisations and funds.

Australia’s commitments

Aid donors work together to provide important public goods and services through international organisations and funds. Australia contributes to these funds. It makes commitments to these funds during pledging rounds and then follows up on these commitments in subsequent aid budgets. Below, you can find out more about some of the international organisations and initiatives Australia commits aid to, how much we give and how this compares globally.

Gavi - The Vaccine Alliance

Australia has pledged AU$458 million to Gavi for the 2021-2025 replenishment and is the 9th largest bilateral government donor in this round.

Australia has committed AU$100 million towards CEPI’s 2022-2026 replenishment target and is placed at 8th among bilateral government donors.

Australia has pledged AU$266 million to the Global Fund’s 2023-2025 replenishment round, making it the 11th largest government donor.

Australia has pledged $423 million to the Asian Development Bank’s Asian Development Fund for the period 2021-2024 and is the 2nd largest government donor after Japan.

In GPE’s latest replenishment, Australia has pledged AU$180 million covering the period 2021-2025 and is placed at 8th among bilateral government donors.
