On Friday May 1, UPNG and ANU academics collaborated to run the 2015 PNG Update Writers’ Workshop. Designed for junior researchers and practitioners, the workshop provided feedback to authors who will be presenting at the PNG Update on June 18 and 19, at the UPNG Campus in Port Moresby. About 15 junior UPNG and other academics, NGO practitioners, and government officials took advantage of the opportunity to practice presenting their papers and to obtain extensive feedback.
Thanks to my colleague, Bob Warner of Crawford School, for making the trip to Port Moresby to take part, and to UPNG School of Business Administration for organising and hosting the event. And thanks to the Australian aid program for covering our travel costs. The draft program of the PNG Update is almost ready, and registration will be open shortly.
