Pär Liljert

Pär Liljert is the International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) Chief of Mission & Coordinator for the Pacific. Prior to taking up his current post he served (from 2013 – 2018) as IOM’s Special Envoy and Chief of Mission in China, representing IOM in P.R. China, Mongolia and DPRK. Prior service as an international civil servant for IOM includes postings as the Chief of Mission in Tanzania (2007 – 2011) and Chief of Mission in Zambia (2002 – 2004) and played an important role in establishing IOM’s Africa Capacity Building Center (ACBC) in Moshi, Tanzania.

The Reserve Bank of Fiji recently reported that remittance transfers utilising digital channels have increased.
