The Development Policy Centre’s annual Pacific Migration Workshop is an important forum for discussion of Pacific migration issues and their economic, social, political, and environmental dimensions.

The 2024 Pacific Migration Workshop will be held on 3 September in Canberra, back-to-back with the 2024 State of the Pacific Conference and the ANU Migration Hub Update.

This year’s theme is Expanding Opportunities for Pacific Migration.

We invite abstracts and panels from policymakers, practitioners and academics on topics that broadly address this theme.

Potential topics include (but are not limited to):
– Pacific labour mobility
– Permanent migration pathways, settlement and employment
– Migration and development
– Gender and migration
– Migration and environment
– Human rights and migration
– Migration governance

Submit abstracts to devpolicy@anu.edu.au with email subject: Pacific Migration Workshop.

Limited funds are available to support Pacific researchers and PhD students to present at the Workshop. Please indicate on your submission whether you need funding support to attend the Workshop.
