From little things big things grow: measuring women’s empowerment in agriculture

Josie Huxtable

Josie has worked in international development for over a decade and is currently CARE Australia’s Gender Advisor for Agriculture and Food Security. She works to improve practice by providing technical support and expert advice to country office teams and partners, including the private sector. Her work and areas of expertise include the design and delivery of innovative programs and research for women’s economic empowerment with a focus on financial inclusion, inclusive agricultural value chains and market systems. Josie’s experience covers Asia, the Pacific and Eastern and Southern Africa. She holds a Masters in International Development from Deakin University, a Bachelor of Science (Ecology) and a Bachelor of Arts (Geography) from the University of Queensland.
